Jsoefin bedriver forskning om psykosociala aspekter av traumatiska och svåra händelser. Forskningsprojekten berör främst posttraumatisk stress och förlängda sorgereaktioner, samt interventionsstudier för att utvärdera psykosociala stödinsatser hos barn och vuxna efter en svårhändelse.

Med stöd från Barncancerfonden utvärderas en internetbaserad kognitiv beteende-terapibehandling för insomni hos föräldrar som mist ett barn i cancer. Ett annat projekt, med stöd från Barncancerfonden, är utveckling och utvärdering av en smartphone applikation om sorg och förlängdsorg, som riktar sig till föräldrar som mist ett barn i cancer.

Jag undersöker även psykologiska processer, som ältande och undvikande, och dess betydelse för sorgeprocessen.

Inom ramen för högskolans forskarutbildning, Människan i välfärdssamhället med inriktning mot palliativ vård, är jag huvudhandledare till Lilian Pohlkamp och Megan Weber.
