Research Area

My doctoral studies are part of a research project where the overall objective is to evaluate Beardslee's family-centered intervention for families with children aged 6-19 years, where a parent is seriously ill and cared for in advanced home care. Beardslee's family-centered intervention has previously been used in psychiatric care in order to provide support to children with a parent suffering from mental illness. This family intervention will now be tested in palliative care with the purpose of increasing communication within the family, the awareness of the imminent death and to eventually reduce family members' mental burden.
