Forskningsområde

Mitt huvudsakliga forskningsområde är palliativ vård med fokus på innebörden av en god död utifrån ett patient- och närståendeperspektiv. I linje med detta är syftet att nå kunskap om hur vården kan främja patientens möjligheter att leva den sista tiden så optimalt som möjligt utifrån den hälsosituation personen befinner sig i, personens egna värderingar och preferenser, relaterat till vårdens resurser. Att utveckla modeller som kan främja en personcentrerad vård där vården samskapas och patientens delaktighet ses som självklar, är ett led i detta. En tankeram (modell), för att främja en personcentrerad vård - ”De 6 S:n”, har utvecklats i samverkan med kliniskt verksamma sjuksköterskor och forskare. Den används idag inom flera palliativa verksamheter och inom några vård- och omsorgsboenden. Ett annat intresseområde i min forskning rör livets början och hur det är att växa upp med en medfödd sjukdom som t.ex. en hjärtmissbildning, och vad som händer i familjen då.
